The upcoming 2023 Isuzu D-Max will hit the dealerships later in 2021. The arriving pickup truck was originally planned for this year. However, the Covid-19 pandemic forced Isuzu to reschedule future plans. Thanks to that, the new-gen D-Max is around one year away and it will introduce drastic changes. First spy photos are available and the images are proving those significant upgrades.
The exterior redesign will happen, but the interior will receive mid-cycle refreshments. Things under the hood are the biggest mystery at the moment. A new engine is a possibility but the manufacturer didn’t say anything about it. Isuzu will release more details in the first quarter of 2021.
2023 D-Max Spy Photos
The all-new 2023 Isuzu D-Max will gain a more modern appearance. The exterior redesign starts with the front fascia. First spy shots are showing some significant changes such as a new grille and headlights. The front part looks better than ever, no question about it. The D-Max pickup rides on its seventh-generation and it is a model that comes with the tradition.
Interestingly, some styling cues are similar to the cues on the Ford Ranger. Both models are popular options in Australia and are basically rivals. Besides the new front fascia, the D-Max pickup will gain new taillights. Moreover, Isuzu will provide new tires, nudge bars, roll bars, and updated rear locking differential.
Interior Gets Larger Display
New 2023 Isuzu D-Max is known for its durable and modern interior. Moreover, the cabin is roomy and even the safety ratings are great. The 2023 model will gain mid-cycle refreshments. For a start, Isuzu will try to deliver an SUV-like design with plenty of modern touches. Thanks to that, D-Max will offer a new and larger display, new upholstery, and much more.
The latest driver-assistance aids are in the offer, but all of the new amenities will be optional in the base trim level. Spy shots didn’t provide enough info about the interior design, but we don’t expect major upgrades. Lastly, Isuzu could surprise us with new interior color schemes.
Performances, Towing Capacity
As for the performances, the next-gen 2023 Isuzu D-Max will surely arrive with the current 3.0-liter turbodiesel powertrain. This will be the standard engine option and it will provide 188 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, Isuzu offers a six-speed automatic transmission. This pickup truck can tow up to 7720 pounds and that could slightly improve in the future. However, many reports are writing about new powertrain choice.
It makes perfect sense, but there are so many possible outcomes for the D-Max pickup truck at the moment. On the other hand, a hybrid variant is not one of the possible outcomes. Despite various speculations, Isuzu won’t develop a hybrid setup that should power the brand’s best-selling model. Instead, another diesel engine seems like a greater possibility.
2023 Isuzu D-Max Price and Launch Date
Like with any other next-gen model, the new 2023 Isuzu D-Max will cost more than its predecessor. The price will now start at $30,000. If you want the X-Terrain version, you’ll have to pay almost $60,000. The D-Max pickup truck will arrive in Australia later in 2021. Toyota Hilux and Nissan Navara are once again the biggest rivals.
