Nissan is expanding its lineup of all-electric models with the brand-new 2023 Nissan Ariya. It is an SUV that will reach the dealerships in the U.S. at some point during 2021. Like the Leaf hatchback, Ariya SUV will provide up to 300 miles of driving range on a single charge. That is a small improvement over the Leaf model. The Ariya SUV comes with sharp lines and angular approach.
The ride is lower, and the stance is wider. Nissan offers different battery sizes, and performances are more than solid. For 2023, Ariya will get a new semi-autonomous driving system, but the rest of the vehicle should remain intact. After all, it will be the second year of the production for this electric SUV.
2023 Ariya Facelift
The upcoming 2023 Nissan Ariya ride on the brand’s new EV architecture. Moreover, this SUV comes with a 109-inch long wheelbase. The Japanese manufacturer offers either 19-inch or 20-inch wheels, and both options are looking attractive. According to Nissan, Ariya represents a brand’s new design language called the “Timeless Japanese Futurism.” Indeed, Ariya looks smoother than current and previous Nissan’s vehicles.
It also looks more dynamic and definitely sharper than models such as Murano SUV. The front part hosts slimmer and futuristic headlights. Ariya is shorter than the seven-seat X-Trail SUV, but it looks more distinctive. The rear section comes with a full-width LED bar, and raked roofline makes Ariya look like a coupe-like crossover.
Interior Details
New 2023 Nissan Ariya is a two-row five-seat electric SUV. The interior is full of high-tech amenities, while the design is minimalistic. Once you step inside the cabin, you will notice plenty of smooth surfaces and upright materials. However, the highlight is a large horizontal display. This unit can be used as both the infotainment system and instrument cluster.
The EV platform is smartly designed, so the floor is completely flat. That will provide more room for the rear passengers. Cargo area is more than solid, but the AWD model comes with two cubic feet less cargo volume. Like any other modern SUV, Ariya comes with various phone integrations and newest driver-assistance aids.
Specs, Acceleration, Driving Range
The 2023 Nissan Ariya is definitely an improvement over the Leaf model. Unlike the Leaf hatchback that is available only with front-wheel-drive, Ariya offers an optional all-wheel-drive system. Thanks to that, Ariya AWD will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than five seconds. Still, the base trim level is slower, but you should still expect strong performances. Nissan still refuses to release performance figures, but Ariya should produce around 400 horsepower.
Moreover, 300 miles of driving range per charge is more than enough. To compare, Nissan Leaf comes with 226 miles of driving range. Moreover, Ariya beats rivals such as Jaguar I-Pace or Audi e-Tron that are offering 234 and 204 miles, respectively. You can charge new Ariya on home’s 110 and 240-volt outlets. However, DC fast-charging ports are also available.
2023 Nissan Ariya Price and Release Date
The approaching 2023 Nissan Ariya will cost $40,000. It is a base variant with a smaller 63.0-kWh battery pack. Upper trim with 87.0-kWh battery costs $45,000. The price is affordable, in our opinion. The sales should begin in the second half of 2021, according to latest reports.
