The approaching 2023 Nissan Armada is an eight-passenger three-row SUV. It comes with bold design and good towing capacity. Still, Armada is a step behind established models such as Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon. However, the price is affordable, and the Armada is a reliable SUV.
It perhaps doesn’t offer the latest modern features, but the ride is smooth and pleasant. The safety rating is another strong category for this large SUV. For the next year, Nissan will provide mid-cycle refreshments. That includes both exterior and interior upgrades. On the other hand, performance will carry over in 2023.
2023 Armada Exterior Facelift
The upcoming 2023 Nissan Armada will get a couple of exterior refreshments. This SUV will continue to deliver a sharp and chiseled look. The 2023 model now wears a design closer to the latest company’s model. V-Motion grille looks very prominent, and headlights are looking more angular. On top of that, LED accents are looking very stylish and modern.
A similar design of the front fascia can be found on new Nissan Titan pickup truck. As for the changes, Armada will gain new 22-inch wheels and all-season tires. All trim levels will get new optional packages and heated exterior mirrors. On top of that, a couple of subtle cosmetic upgrades are barely visible.
Comfort, Cargo, and Safety
Armada’s interior is something very unique. We already wrote that the cabin lacks the latest high-tech features. If you can ignore that, the 2023 Nissan Armada is a perfect SUV. The interior looks classy, and comfort is guaranteed. This SUV is well insulated from the outside noise, and interior room is generous. If you want real luxury, you have to go for the range-topping Platinum Reserve trim level. There will be room for eight passengers across the three rows of seats. Cargo area is more than competitive. On the other hand, storage bin in the center console is too small.
Still, Armada comes with numerous optional packages and the latest safety systems. For 2023, Nissan will offer new optional packages and new driver-assistance. That includes standard auto emergency braking and optional lane-departure warning. Furthermore, lane-keeping assist and blind-spot monitoring are also optional. Nissan Connect infotainment system is up to date, and it comes with standard navigation. A 13-speaker Bose audio system is available, along with a standard 8-inch touchscreen.
Engine Specs and Diesel Rumors
The all-new 2023 Nissan Armada continues to ride on a 5.6-liter V8 engine. This output generates 390 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a 7-speed automatic transmission and a standard rear-wheel-drive system. All-wheel-drive setup is optional, and Armada can tow up to 8500 pounds. Large SUV offers impressive quickness, however, it lacks optional engine. Armada needs only 5.9 seconds to reach 60 mph.
Fuel economy is rated at only 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. This is perhaps the biggest issue, and Nissan needs to offer optional powertrain. A diesel engine is just a rumor for now. A 5.0-liter V8 is a possible candidate. Turbodiesel variant will provide 335 hp and up to 555 lb-ft of torque. We don’t know how the fuel economy will be rated, but this particular engine will tow almost 12,000 pounds.
2023 Nissan Armada Price and Release Date
