The all-new 2023 Toyota Hilux is going on sale at the beginning of next year. It will be the new-gen model so Toyota will provide significant updates. That includes an exterior redesign and interior overhaul. At the moment, the second-gen Hilux is one of the most reliable options in the segment. Its styling is impressive and the truck looks very attractive.
However, we can’t exactly say how the new model will look like. On the other hand, Toyota will offer various changes from the new exterior paints to the new interior amenities. As before, Hilux shouldn’t introduce new trim levels or cab configurations. The price will slightly increase and we are waiting for Toyota to release more details about its new model.
2023 Hilux Facelift

The last time when Hilux arrived with drastic changes was in 2017. The 2020 model was a carryover so the 2023 Toyota Hilux will be the next-gen model. The Japanese automaker will work on multiple ways to improve its truck. For a start, the exterior will get a complete redesign. Toyota plans to deliver new features, including new wheels. The shape and vehicle’s dimensions should remain intact. However, the front fascia will suffer the most.
Hilux will arrive with reshaped grille and new headlights. The bumpers are revised too and the taillights will be new as well. A new design will provide a sportier look, especially with the brand-new optional wheels. Toyota offers three cab setups and that includes regular, extended, and double cab options. New exterior paints are a must for the new-gen Hilux.
Interior Updates
Like with the exterior, the new 2023 Toyota Hilux will introduce interior overhaul. The cabin is all-new. For a start, new upholstery is in the offer. Moreover, new and larger displays are available. The larger infotainment display is important for this model as the previous unit was too small and outdated. The customers should expect fewer buttons on the inside but the seating layout will largely remain.
New air vents are in the offer, along with the additional chrome trims. Toyota will also provide new cloth and leather upholstery for an improved level of comfort. Hilux will get more standard equipment across the complete trim level lineup. The dash will suffer a couple of modifications, just like the instrument cluster.
Engine Specs, Diesel
The forthcoming 2023 Toyota Hilux could arrive with a new powertrain option. However, this is just speculation at the moment. From what we know, a 2.7-liter gasoline engine remains standard. This output cranks out 165 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. An optional 2.4-liter turbodiesel is available and it provides a higher level of torque.
Still, the most powerful engine is a larger 2.8-liter diesel unit. This powertrain generates 175 horsepower and up to 330 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission will carryover but manual transmission remains a mystery.
2023 Toyota Hilux Price and Release Date
The new-gen 2023 Toyota Hilux will cost more than its predecessor. The third-gen Hilux now starts at $22,000. It is a small price increase given the number of updates.
Various reports are saying that the upcoming Hilux will be released at the beginning of 2023. However, Asia-spec Hilux made its debut a couple of days ago in Thailand.
