New 2023 Lincoln Continental Design – Lincoln has a plan for MKZ retirement later this year and has confirmed there will be no 2021 model year sedan. This decision was caused by a slow vehicle sale-in the year 2019, the brand only registered 17,725 of MKZ shipments, a decline of 11 percent compared to the previous year. However, although the results are not satisfactory, the dealer’s marque wants to continue to offer a sedan to its customers.

The Lincoln Continental Lineup has been simplified for the year 2023 and is now present in three different trim: standard, Backup, and black Label. In addition, there is a lightweight overhaul of the options package available in the Continental and three new colors: Pristine White Metallic Tri-Coat, Red Carpet Metallic Cleared Raincoat, and Silver Radiance Clearcoat.

New 2023 Lincoln Continental Engine

The top-spec 3.0-liter turbo engine generates 400 horsepower and delivers faster acceleration than most drivers expect. Unfortunately, the Continental shares the pieces too clearly with the cheaper Ford and LINCOLN products, which make for a high luxury image. The Reserve comes with a 2.7-liter V-6 twin-turbocharged that makes 335 horsepower versus a 3.7-liter non-turbocharged V-6 car, which produces 305 horsepower. Other standard equipment includes a 19-inch wheel, a panoramic sunroof, a power-operated trunk lid, a Revel 13-speaker audio system, a heated and ventilated front seat with 24-way adjustments, navigation on the dashboard, and automated three-zone climate control.

Continental does not lack power. However, utilizing it only through the front wheels is a struggle that will disappoint an enthusiastic driver but must correspond to most of the usual drivers; All-wheel drive is optional and does a better job of putting power to the sidewalk. Unfortunately, the behavior of the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 that we tested was uneven, with overly aggressive throttle response and some transmission problems. However, it proved pretty fast

While the Continental cab does not have the cohesive sophistication of its competitors, it offers a high level of standard equipment. Many of our evaluators find an optional 30-way adjustable Perfect Position seat worth every penny from a high price, while others don’t consider it as comfortable as the best of the best of the luxury competition. But the rubber side bearing on the seat, adjustable thigh stand, massage mode, and very warm heating elements put both occupants of the front seat in a luxurious lap.

New 2023 Lincoln Continental Features

All Continental models feature an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring an updated version of Ford 3 Sync’s parent enterprise software. It’s a pretty intuitive system that most users should learn to use quickly. Lincoln provides redundant buttons and knobs for frequently used functions. The standard audio system has 10 speakers, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, and USB connectivity. Audiophiles can upgrade to a Revel 13-or 19-speaker system with an HD radio.
