The upcoming 2023 Honda Pilot will arrive at some point in 2021 and it is the next-gen model. The Pilot SUV will stick to its roots, but we should expect some significant changes and upgrades. Recently, we saw the newest spy shots that are proving exactly that. This model is still in the early stage of production so anything could happen.
On the other hand, reliable sources are suggesting a complete cabin revamp and an exterior redesign. We don’t know what will happen with performances. Hopefully, Honda will introduce a new engine option. Most likely, the price will slightly increase in 2023.
Spy Shots Showing 2023 Pilot Redesign
The next-gen 2023 Honda Pilot has been spied for the first time. As you can see, Pilot SUV is currently in the early stage of development. Thanks to that, it is still hard to predict how the new model will look like. On the other hand, the latest spy shots show several improvements that include a redesign of the front fascia. Honda’s aim is to make the Pilot more modern and more competitive.
This makes perfect sense as the mid-size segment is packed with great models. New 2023 Pilot looks larger but that doesn’t have to mean anything. Heavy camouflage upfront clearly suggests significant changes such as a brand-new grille and headlights. We expect drastic upgrades on the back as well and Honda will probably introduce new exterior paints.
Interior Upgrades
On the inside, the new Honda Pilot 2023 will remain a modern roomy SUV. The Pilot model offers three rows of seats and a room for seven passengers. However, like many other three-row SUVs, Pilot’s third-row is not suitable for adults.
Some reports are suggesting a larger model. Thanks to that, Pilot could offer more space inside the cabin. Furthermore, Honda will provide more upright materials and a higher level of comfort. Lastly, this model will get more standard equipment and additional driver-assistance systems.
Hybrid Rumors
The all-new 2023 Honda Pilot will once again arrive with two engine choices. The base Pilot uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 280 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. This SUV comes with a standard FWD system, while the AWD setup is once again. As you can see, things under the hood are the same and Pilot will offer a current 6-speed automatic and 9-speed automatic transmission.
Some reports are predicting the Pilot Hybrid variant. The hybrid model comes with a 3.5-liter V6 that works in mix with an electric motor. Total output will generate around 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. In addition, Pilot Hybrid will deliver astonishing fuel economy ratings.
2023 Honda Pilot Release Date and Price
As for the price, the new 2023 Honda Pilot will start at around $33,000. This is a small jump in price, given the number of changes. A rumored hybrid variant could arrive and it will surely cost above $40,000. The sales will begin later in 2021, most likely in the last quarter of the year. Honda will announce official details in the coming months.
