The upcoming 2023 Lexus UX is a subcompact luxury crossover. This model is confirmed and it will arrive at some point in the second half of 2021. And while it comes with hatchback-like dimensions, this model is very premium and sporty. We don’t expect major upgrades as the 2021 model already arrived as the brand-new model.
The “UX” stands for the “Urban Explorer” and this crossover offers both gasoline and hybrid powertrain options. The performances are good, the styling is perfect and the interior is full of luxury. Whatsoever, we think the cabin is the best part of this model, but other parts of the vehicle are not far behind.

New 2023 Lexus UX will arrive with subtle visual upgrades. You can recognize this crossover with its small dimensions and distinctive grille. The same grille can be found on the RX models as well. The vehicle’s proportions will remain, so the platform and some other things will remain intact. We like the impressive 18-inch alloy wheels that are offered as standard.
Interestingly, the hybrid variant seems to look slightly different and better. Still, the differences are minimal. The hybrid model comes with more black accents, which is the biggest difference. Those accents are visible around the grille but UX Hybrid also offers darkened headlamps and side mirrors.
Interior Updates
The interior of the 2023 Lexus UX will once again offer a very attractive design combined with the smart layout. Lexus delivers a lot of high-quality materials so the comfort is at a high level. It is a small crossover so the interior room is not that generous, including the cargo capacity. Whatsoever, the hybrid model delivers even less space.
The 2023MY will gain more driver-assistance aids, more standard equipment, and the new infotainment system. Besides that, the cabin will largely remain. This is not a bad thing as this is a relatively new crossover. The UX model is available in numerous trim levels. Upper trims are offering a larger 10.3-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, leather upholstery, and premium sound system.
Engine Specifications
In terms of performances, the 2023 Lexus UX will offer the same two powertrain options. Some reports are writing about possible minor mechanical upgrades. Thanks to that, the new model will produce less noise so the ride quality will be even better. The UX 200 version offers a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 170 horsepower. A front-wheel-drive comes as standard, along with the CVT automatic transmission.
A hybrid powertrain is optional once again and it is the UX 250h model. This variant combines the same 2.0-liter mill with two electric motors. The output is rated at 181 horsepower and the same CVT transmission is in the offer. On the other hand, the AWD system is available. A hybrid version also comes with the nickel-metal hybrid battery.
2023 Lexus UX Price, Release Date
The forthcoming 2023 Lexus UX is once again available for around $33,000. On the other hand, the UX 250h model will cost $36,500. The sales will begin by the end of 2021, probably later in the year. Lexus UX is a small crossover that competes with Jaguar E-Pace, BMW X1, and Volvo XC40.
