The famous Hellcat pickup truck is almost ready to go on sale. The upcoming 2023 Ram 1500 TRX has been teased a couple of days ago. Ram released a teaser video for its TRX model that will rival Ford Raptor. This model is official, and it will reach the dealerships in the coming months. Everything started as a concept in 2016, and Ram confirmed the production in 2018.
The wait is over, and the TRX variant will soon step up from the Ram 1500 Rebel variant and provide stronger performances and better off-road capabilities. Thanks to the latest teaser video, the truck’s design is more familiar to use. The same stands for the performances and various mechanical details. Here’s what to expect from the approaching Ram 1500 TRX.
Ram 1500 TRX Looks Aggressive
The prototypes of the 2023 Ram 1500 TRX are showing a wide-body design with a beefier suspension. The TRX concept was presented with 13 inches of wheel travel and Dynatrac Pro 60 rear axle with locking differential. Moreover, internal bypass shocks are also available. The same concept came with the front axle with an open differential, wider front track, and custom half shafts.
The TRX variant will get more aggressive bodywork, and that includes new distinctive grille and larger fender flares. Truck’s appearance is both elegant and aggressive. The athletic stance is visible at first look, along with large wheels and wider dimensions for improved stability.
707HP Hellcat Engine Specs
Just like the Ford F-150 Raptor, new 2023 Ram 1500 TRX will also mix off-road capability with power. The original concept comes with a 6.2-liter V8 supercharged Hellcat engine. This engine provides 575 hp, but the production version will offer two engine options. The first one is a potent V8 with 525 horsepower. The second powertrain option is the mentioned Hellcat engine tuned to 707 horses.
Both powerplants are available with a standard four-wheel-drive setup and an eight-speed automatic transmission. After Raptor switched to the V6 engine, Ram Rebel TRX is one of a few models to use V8 power. Interestingly, the next version of the Raptor truck could arrive with Mustang’s 5.2-liter supercharged V8 that can produce up to 760 hp. It is a direct answer to Ram’s TRX variant.
