The upcoming 2023 Ram HD will get further refreshments. The race for the best model in the heavy-duty segment continues. Whatsoever, both Ford and Chevrolet are improving their lineup. Ram will do precisely the same, and the latest spy shots are the proof. The manufacturer will provide a couple of interesting visual changes.
Moreover, the heavy-duty lineup will now look closer to the Ram 1500 light-duty model. The interior will also suffer a couple of important refinements. Unfortunately, nothing will change under the hood. Ram HD will continue with the same engine lineup as its predecessor.
Ram HD Facelift
Every model in the heavy-duty lineup will get the same updates. The 2023 Ram HD has been spied a couple of weeks ago. Ram will deliver essential updates, and most of them are visual. However, complete redesign won’t happen, as some rumors suggested. The prototype looks different than the current model. The grille shape is different, and it features new surrounding elements.
The center section sits taller, so the headlights are new. The front bumper is bolder, and the hood looks more prominent. On the other hand, some parts are still not visible thanks to the heavy camouflage. The rear part will host the same taillights, and the rear bumper is bolder too. Ram will add new brake light, but wheels options are intact.
Interior Refreshments
The interior of the 2023 Ram HD will get a couple of updates. A new truck will arrive with additional high-tech and safety features. The goal is to put a new heavy-duty lineup above the competition. Of course, we are talking about Ford and Chevrolet. Again, Ram will try to deliver a cabin that looks closer to the Ram 1500 light-duty pickup. All trim levels will get more luxury and more high-quality materials.
Tech-wise, new infotainment system, and latest phone integrations are in the offer. Safety is already impressive, but Ram will try to provide even higher ratings. New driver-assistance aids are a must for the manufacturer. The interior layout will remain, and that includes passenger room and seating capacity.
Ram Offers Both Diesel and Gasoline Engines
The approaching 2023 Ram HD won’t get a new powertrain option. That means the engine lineup largely remains for 2023. The good thing is that the Ram offers both diesel and gasoline powertrain options. A 5.7-liter V8 gasoline is provided as standard. This engine can produce 385 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Optionally, a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 is available as well. This engine cranks out 410 horses and 430 lb-ft of twisting power. While petrol engines are good, the diesel engine is the real deal.

It is a 6.7-liter Cummins V8 with 370 horsepower. However, this engine is rated at 930 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, Ram will improve the torque ratings for 2023. At this moment, Ram HD can tow around 20,000 pounds. On the other hand, the gasoline engine can tow up to 14,000 pounds. Lastly, Ram will offer both manual and automatic transmission.
2023 Ram HD Release Date and Price
The price of the 2023 Ram HD won’t significantly jump. The price starts at $32,000 at this moment, but the new model won’t cost above $33,000. Upper trim levels could cost over $60,000. Ram will launch a new model in the second half of 2020.
