The next 2023 Volvo XC90 SUV is scheduled to be on sale next year. The hybrid and all-electric variants are available but we can’t confirm that the Swedish manufacturer intends to provide a petrol engine. It could be the last time the XC90 model will offer a traditional combustion engine.
Volvo is turning its models completely into autonomous driving and full electricity. Although we know a lot about the new XC90, most of the information is not yet available. This modern SUV will hit the markets later next year and here’s everything you need to know about the 2023 XC90.
2023 XC90 Exterior Redesign
Volvo said that the new-generation XC90 will be as modern as ever before. A redesign is happening so we are about to see drastic updates on the 2023 Volvo XC90. Certainly, some of the changes are important. In the beginning, this SUV will sit on the new SPA architecture. Other XC models are expected to deploy the same platform in the near future.
A stylish front fascia comes with all-new headlights but it is hard to determine exact updates at the moment. Volvo will release the brand-new and larger XC100. This model is soon to be presented and gives us an idea about how the new XC90 generation might look like.
The upcoming 2023 Volvo XC90 will receive additional updates within the cabin according to the latest stories. Volvo is about to improve its autonomous driving systems. According to the most reliable reports, Volvo will become the first manufacturer that will deliver level 5 of autonomous driving. As for the XC90 SUV, it will feature Level 4. This level enables hands-free and eye-free driving.
From what we heard, the XC90 model will once again arrive with the same trim level lineup. Moreover, each trim level will get more standard features. The base trim comes with features like a moonroof, power-adjustable front seats, and the latest phone integrations. We believe the all-new XC90 SUV will gain even more advanced driver-assistance systems. However, new systems will be optional in the entry-level trims. Every trim level is full of luxury, but the upper trims are on an entirely different level.
XC90 Will Offer Hybrid and All-Electric Powertrains
This is perhaps the biggest mystery at the moment. The 2023 Volvo XC90 could hit the roads without a gasoline engine for the first time. That means the 2021 model is probably the last one that offers a traditional combustion engine. The new-gen XC90 should ride on a fully electric powertrain.
Moreover, Swedish carmaker will most likely deliver some sort of hybrid variant as well. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for official details, which will happen in the coming months. For now, Volvo XC90 will offer both hybrid and all-electric variants.
2023 Volvo XC90 Price and Release Date
The forthcoming 2023 Volvo XC90 will hit the dealerships in the last quarter of 2021. Its price starts at around $50,000. On the other hand, upper trim levels will cost $65,000 and slightly above that. The Swedish manufacturer will reveal more details in the early stages of 2021.
