The goal is to keep the truck competitive with Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 in the race.

The interior is still a mystery as spy photos failed to provide any cabin details. Lastly, the performance should remain intact, which means the 2023 Sierra 1500 is in line to get a mid-cycle facelift.

The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 will arrive with mid-cycle refreshments. The spy shots are available and we are looking at the blocky and angular look like with the current model. However, taking a closer look at these photos helped us to realize what is new for 2023. Sierra pickup will get a black plastic mesh grille for sure. However, heavy camouflage perfectly hides that area.
Still, we are sure that GM will introduce more chrome trims than before. Thanks to that, the front section will look more premium than before. The front opening clearly suggests a place for radar or camera so the Super Cruise system should be available. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for General Motors to completely unveil its new pickup truck.
Interior Changes
The spy photos didn’t provide any interior details. Thanks to that, we can’t tell what exactly is hiding inside the cabin of the new 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. General Motors really focused on interior design in the last couple of years. Both Silverado and Sierra models are now offering good-looking cabins with new dashboards and instrument clusters.
However, Ram and Ford are offering a better interior at the moment. That is about to change, according to GM. Thanks to that, we should expect more major upgrades on the inside. Hopefully, a new batch of spy photos will show us what to expect. We predict the same upgrades as inside the redesigned Yukon SUV.
Diesel Engine Will Get Better Towing Capacity
While no one knows what’s under the truck’s hood, the new 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 will probably arrive with the same engine lineup. However, the latest reports are suggesting one important improvement. The current 3.0-liter Duramax inline-six diesel powertrain should get better cooling.
Thanks to that, the Sierra 1500 truck will get a better towing capacity. This is the most reliable diesel engine currently available in the US. General Motors is working on electric powertrains. However, the 2023 Sierra seems like an unlikely candidate for this sort of electrification.
2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Price and Release Date
The arriving 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 will probably cost exactly the same as the 2021 model. That means the price should start at $32,000. On the other hand, Sierra 1500 Denali trim level will cost up to $60,000. General Motors will release its new pickup truck at some point next year. Summer 2021 is the most probable release date.
